The route we took passes through private land that is posted, but we were granted permission. I don't want the guy inundated with requests, so I'm not publicly posting any details. We had a good route, but it was about 10 degrees to start, the first cold hike of the season, and despite decent grades, I wasn't feeling exceptionally powerful. Greg probably summed it up best by noting the trailbreaking wasn't bad, as we were only sinking in a few inches, but it was the first breaking we've had to do this winter. We made it as far as the col between Mary and Middle Pilot, but the wind kicked in pretty badly. Seeing a bunch of fir and spruce covered in snow did nothing to my morale. Brian's feet were blocks of ice, my hands were in excruciating pain, so despite being so close to these summits, we called it a day, and had a nice early meal at Scropio's. Always a bonus for going through Lancaster. :)
